Haniel Neves

Organ Fellow

Haniel Neves is a native of Houston, Texas, and is currently in his second and final year of graduate studies in organ performance at the Yale School of Music/Institute of Sacred Music as a student of Martin Jean. He also studies sacred and liturgical music with James O'Donnell, Richard Webster, and Walden Moore, and improvisation with Jeffrey Brillhart.


He received his Bachelor of Music from Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas studying organ and harpsichord under Dr. David Heller. He has participated in masterclasses with many renowned organists, including Nathan Laube, Johann Vexo, Jean-Baptiste Robin, and Olivier Latry. In 2025, he was awarded first prize and the hymn playing excellence award for the undergraduate division in the William C. Bill Hall Organ Competition in San Antonio, TX, and first prize (harpsichord) for the 2025 Trinity Concerto Competition. He has held various organ scholar positions, including at Rye Presbyterian Church in Rye, New York, and is currently an organ scholar at Marquand Chapel at the Yale Divinity School.
