St Paul's Singers
4pm Anticipatory Mass
The St Paul’s Singers is the parish’s volunteer choir, bringing together parishioners who enjoy singing and wish to take an active part in the musical life of St Paul’s. The choir is open to singers of all levels of experience, and no previous choral training is required.
The Singers lead the music at the 4.00pm Saturday Vigil Mass, rehearsing each Saturday at 3.00pm. Under the directionof the parish music staff, members develop their voices, musicianship, and confidence while preparing a growing repertoire of hymns, service music, and sacred choral works.
In addition to their weekly ministry, the St Paul’s Singers take part in major celebrations and special events throughout the parish year, often joining forces with the professional singers of the St Paul’s Consort.
A particular highlight of the 2026–27 season will be Christmas Eve, when the Singers will lead a festive Christmas Prelude beginning at 3.30pm before the 4.00pm Vigil Mass of Christmas, featuring traditional carols alongside music for organ and trumpet.
At the heart of the St Paul’s Singers is the conviction that the Church’s musical tradition belongs to the whole worshipping community. Membership offers parishioners an opportunity to deepen their participation in the liturgy, develop their musical abilities, and enjoy the fellowship that comes from making music together.
